Life Assurance

There are various types of life cover available, the most straightforward being Decreasing Term Assurance which provides a lump sum payment if you die, or are diagnosed with a terminal illness within the term of the plan (which will normally coincide with the term of your mortgage). The level of cover will decrease in line with your reducing balance on your mortgage.

A critical illness option is also worth considering, and life insurance rates are much more competitive now and the earlier you start, the cheaper it is.
